Piotr Zielonka, professor in Department of Econophysics at Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He dealt with the experimental physiology of the brain at the Mossakowski Medical Research Centre Polish Academy of Sciences. He has conducted research in behavioral economics and the psychology of moivation and published scientific articles in such journals as „Resuscitation”, „The Journal of Behavioral Finance”, „Thinking & Reasoning”, and „Journal of Cognitive Psychology.” He published a book in Polish entitled „The Stock Market and Psychology,” which appeared in five editions. Piotr Zielonka is na editor and a co-author of a book „Large Risks with Low Probabilities” published in Londonin 2017. He questioned the effectiveness of technical analysis and compared the predictive ability of financial analysts and meteorologists. He examined the disposition effect – a frequent phenomenon on the stock exchanges around the world – involving the tendency of investors to sell shares whose price has increased, while keeping assets that have dropped.
Piotr Zielonka is co-founder and director of the postgraduate program „Business Psychology for Executives” at the Kozminski University in Warsaw. He works closely with scholars at Bucknell University and the University of Idaho and collaborates with a „Think Forward Initiative” in Amsterdam.
